چکیده

Abstract Tanshinone IIA has a potential therapeutic effect on cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury (CIRI). In this study, tanshinone was encapsulated in poly(lactic- co -glycolic acid)-block-poly (ethylene glycol)-carboxylic acid (PLGA-PEG-COOH) nanoparticles, and its efficacy CIRI investigated. Morphology dynamic light scattering analyses were performed to identify optimize nano-formulations. A drug release test conducted using the dialysis method. The cytotoxic of human neuroblastoma cells (SH-SY5Y) brain endothelial capillary (hCMEC/D3) measured MTT assay. protective PLGA-PEG-COOH-encapsulated against evaluated oxygen glucose deprivation/reoxygenation-induced SH-SY5Y/IR middle artery occlusion (MCAO) rats. Results showed that promoted viability inhibited apoptosis ( P < 0.01). Moreover, facilitated invasion repressed inflammation MCAO rats Noteworthy, combined with angiopep-2 peptide presented better inhibitory than alone Angiopep-2 contributes traversing blood–brain barrier by recognizing lipoprotein-related protein expressed cells. conclusion, plus holds promising toward CIRI.

Objective(s): Tanshinone IIA (T. IIA), one of the most pharmacologically active components extracted from Salviae miltiorrhiza, has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant features. The aim of the present study is to investigate the benefit of T. IIA on asthma using a murine model of asthma induced by ovalbumin (OVA). Materials and Methods: Male BALB/c mice were used in the present study. The mice we...

Protective effects of tanshinone IIA sodium sulfonate on ischemia-reperfusion-induced myocardial injury in rats

Objective(s): This study investigated the protective effect of tanshinone IIA sodium sulfonate (TSS) on ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) induced cardiac injury, and the underlying mechanism of action. Materials and Methods:Male Sprague-Dawley rats were subjected to a 30-min coronary arterial occlusion followed by 24 hours' reperfusion. Half an hour before the left coronary artery ligation, rats were ...

Tanshinone inhibits neuronal cell apoptosis and inflammatory response in cerebral infarction rat model

We aimed to investigate the effect and mechanisms of tanshinone (TSN) IIA in cerebral infarction. The cerebral infarction rat model was established by middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO). After pretreatment with TSN, cerebral infarct volume, cerebral edema, and neurological deficits score were evaluated, as well as cell apoptosis in hippocampus and cortex of the brain was examined with term...

Tanshinone IIA inhibits AGEs-induced proliferation and migration of cultured vascular smooth muscle cells by suppressing ERK1/2 MAPK signaling

Objective(s): Vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) play a key role in the pathogenesis of diabetic vascular disease. Our current study sought to explore the effects of tanshinone IIA on the proliferation and migration of VSMCs induced by advanced glycation end products (AGEs). Materials and Methods: In this study, we examined the effects of tanshinone IIA by cell proliferation assay and cell mi...

Tanshinone IIA inhibits angiogenesis in human endothelial progenitor cells in vitro and in vivo

Accumulating evidence reports that bone marrow-derived endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) regulate angiogenesis, postnatal neovascularization and tumor metastasis. It has been suggested that understanding the molecular targets and pharmacological functions of natural products is important for novel drug discovery. Tanshinone IIA is a major diterpene quinone compound isolated from Danshen (Salv...
